My Story

My name is Debbie Vornholt

I have been in property management for over 10 years and in real estate related fields for over 25 years. Over the years I have worked for some great property owners and I have learned a lot.

But, I figured out pretty quickly that there are a lot of people that own rental property who are struggling on a daily basis to get a grip on their business. They don’t lack the desire to succeed but they seem to struggle with implementing systems and procedures to help keep them on track.

Property owners ask me all the time how to solve various problems and in many cases how to get their lives back! Some of them have tenants who have figured out how to control them and are ruining their lives.

This blog is a way for me to help property owners out there who are struggling or who simply don’t know how to handle a particular situation.

I am also an animal lover who has a dogs and three cats.  Over the years I have also had horses, a chinchilla (don’t ask) and some finches.  Because of my love of animals, I am very aware of how attached applicants and tenants are to their pets.  As a result, when someone tells me they will just “get rid of their pet”, I don’t actually believe them!

My friend and I helped also her husband build a barn for our horses on their property.

I have worked in real estate related fields for over 25 years. I am currently the property manager for a company that has a portfolio of hundreds of residential and commercial properties.

One thing that I learned early on is that without good systems and policies in place for running your business, you are going to struggle. It doesn’t matter how small or big your business is. One bad tenant can be 100 times more trouble than 15 properties with great tenants.

Systems and processes help you keep your sanity and keep your life in order.

I am always willing to help anyone become better at what they do.
